Improved methods of teaching BIM technologies (building information modelling) to master students in the specialty "Construction and Civil Engineering" were percieved by scientists of the Kyiv National University of Building and Architecture (KNUBA) during the training at the Warsaw Polytechnic, which took place within the framework of the The Bridge project "Bridging the gap between university and industry: an innovative master's degree program that supports the development of green jobs and digital skills in the Ukrainian construction sector".

This is another step by KNUBA to improve the quality of educational services and ensure high qualifications of master's students by developing skills in the application of the latest BIM technologies, which are important for the modern construction market. The development of international cooperation and exchange of experience between universities in this process is extremely important.

The training at the Warsaw Polytechnic combined lectures and practical classes in the use of modern software in the field of construction information technologies. During them, each participant of the training performs practical tasks in the design of buildings for various purposes and their architectural and design elements. A separate cycle of classes is dedicated to process BIM management. The participants of the training also listened to lectures “Basics of VIM 4D Software” and “VIM 4D Visualization of Structures”.

KNUBA was represented at the training in Warsaw by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Systems and Ecology Oleksandr PRYYMAK, Head of the Department of Geotechnics of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Viktor NOSENKO, Associate Professor of the Department of Urban Construction of the Faculty of Urbanism and Spatial Planning Oleksiy PRYYMACHENKO, Professor of the Department of Project Management of the Faculty of Automation and Information Technologies Nataliya BUSHUYEVA and Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technologies in Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture Oleksiy LEVCHENKO.

Also within the framework of this event, a meeting of the KNUBA delegation with the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, Professor Andrzej HORBACH, and the Deputy Dean for Research, Professor Artur ZBITSIAK, took place. Stable scientific and educational contacts were established on the basis of a mutually beneficial partnership and a plan for further cooperation was developed.

For reference

Kyiv National University of Building and Architecture is a beneficiary of the project "Bridging the gap between university and industry: an innovative master's degree program supporting the development of green jobs and digital skills in the Ukrainian construction sector". Its implementation period is from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2026.

The project's goal is to create new master's programs using BIM technologies in architecture, engineering and construction at Ukrainian universities, aimed at promoting EU best practices in the development and implementation of educational methodologies and specific knowledge and practical skills related to energy efficiency and life cycle sustainability of buildings and the urban environment, based on the requirements set by the UN Agenda 2030, with a particular emphasis on Sustainable Development Goals 7, 10, 11, as well as the priorities of the EU Green Deal and an economy that works for people.
