On May 30, 2024, lecturers of the Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, participants of the The Bridge project Oleksiy Levchenko and Olena Duplyak took part in the 5th INTERNATIONAL BIM FORUM DIGITAL GOVERNANCE & EDUCATION and reported at the 1st BIM-EDUCATION SUMMIT, Kyiv.

Lecturers of departments in the specialty 022, 191, 192, 194 and active students of 3 1st to 6th year were invited to the forum.

The forum discussed the development of digital reforms in Ukraine. The forum was joined by Milena FEUSTEL Architect (Germany), Pieter STAELENS Policy Officer of the European Commission who shared their experience of effective public BIM management in Europe. Ukrainian stakeholders Julian CHAPLINSKY (Member of the Board of The WALL Ukraine, CEO AVR development), Hanna ISKIERDO (Co-founder, Creative Director of AIMM-groups), Anna VASYLENKO (Member of the Board of The WALL Ukraine, Director of VEC UA), Vitaliy GRUSEVYCH (Chairman of the Board of The WALL Ukraine), Oleksandr KANIVETS (Member of the Board of The WALL Ukraine, Founder of ASKansalting) and Yuriy SMIRNOV (Member of the Board of The WALL Ukraine, Director of Allbau-software GmbH Ukraine) shared their own experience in using BIM technologies, AI and outlined the prospects for further development of BIM in Ukraine and emphasized the need for further development of the legislative framework for the implementation of BIM technologies. All stakeholders noted a significant need for trained personnel and the need to study BIM technologies at universities.

Baltic BIM Management presented Eriks VITOLS, who shared his experience of studying BIM technologies in Lithuania.

As part of the forum, Associate Professor of the Department of ITA Oleksiy LEVCHENKO and Professor of the Department of VV Olena DUPLYAK presented the new Educational Program at KNUBA for Masters, developed within the framework of the grant agreement The BRIGE “Bridging the Gap between University and Industry: An Innovative Master’s Curriculum Supporting the Development of Green Jobs and Digital Skills in the Ukrainian Construction Sector”.

Project partner Viktor MALAKHOV, Associate Professor of ODABA, made a report on the topic “Portrait and Motivation of a Modern Student - Real and Important”.
During the free discussion, stakeholders and students expressed their wishes for the future educational program.
