To effectively integrate innovative digital technologies into educational programs, teachers from four faculties of KNUBA took part in a training on BIM technologies at the University of Sannio in Benevento (Italy). This was said by Professor of the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Olena Duplyak.

“The development of modern construction is impossible to imagine without digitalization and the use of BIM technologies (building information modeling), which allow managing complex processes at all stages of the life cycle of construction objects. To train competitive specialists, KNUBA is introducing bachelor's and master's programs in BIM technologies in the specialty "Construction and Civil Engineering," said Olena Duplyak.

Italian experts shared their knowledge on digital skills in the construction sector, BIM standards, energy-efficient design and cooperation with industry to harmonize educational programs with market needs.

The practical part of the training included the creation of 3D building models in the Revit environment and energy modeling in TerMus BIM. Participants considered examples of the use of digital tools in structural and infrastructure design, BIM model formats and the challenges of energy saving - a key principle of modern construction.

In addition to the educational component, the training became a platform for establishing international partnerships. Our university and Sannio plan to further expand cooperation within the framework of the “The Bridge” project.

The training took place thanks to the participation of KNUBA in the international educational project ERASMUS+ The Bridge “Bridging the gap between university and industry: an innovative master's degree program supporting the development of green jobs and digital skills in the Ukrainian construction sector”.
